ABOUT LISA FAULKNER

A coach shaped by real-world leadership

More than a coach - an insider

I didn't start my career in HR. In 1985 I was managing bookshops, stores of varying sizes, with up to thirty people to look after in the largest of them. It was a secondment into the personnel department that first hooked me on this world of people and leadership, long before I had a name for what I was feeling.

I went back into education as a mature student at thirty, studying politics, before returning to the workforce in 1999 in the world of learning and development. I trained people to work in retail, then spent several years supporting young people who had left education with little or no qualifications into their first jobs, and went on to manage the apprenticeship and training function for that organisation.

By 2004 I had moved into managing HR and admin, and I have been in an HR leadership or consultancy role ever since. Twenty-two years across the not-for-profit sector, private and public sector roles, and finance and regulatory environments, working with organisations going through significant change.

Along the way I have coached hundreds of leaders. Not as a side project, but because it produced the most profound and lasting change.

Today I work with senior leaders, ambitious professionals and HR teams who want to operate at their best. Not just perform better on paper, but genuinely lead with confidence and clarity.

What makes my approach different

Most coaches come from either a therapeutic background or a business background. Very few have spent decades working inside complex organisations at a senior level. I have and that changes everything about what I notice, what I ask and what I understand without you having to explain it.

I combine evidence-based coaching methodology with hard-won organisational knowledge. The result is a coaching relationship that feels different. More grounded, more commercially aware and more likely to lead to real, lasting change.

Honest - I ask the questions others might avoid. Comfortable challenges, always with care.

Practical - every insight leads somewhere. Coaching with me produces clarity and action.

Confidential - a space where you can be genuinely honest about work and yourself.

Expert - Over 20 years of HR leadership and a career before that spent managing people on the ground, means I understand your world from the inside, whichever level you’re working at.
